Annual Exhibition 2017 Report

The 2017 Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Exhibition was a rousing success.

This year we had more layouts and trade stands, and we also had a greater number of visitors to the show.

We had a new larger venue and added two new layout sections: American and Continental.

Car parking facilities were much improved and made the exhibition far more accessible by it's close proximity to the A14 and Bury St. Edmunds.

At the exhibition we had in total 22 layouts 18 traders.

The 2017 exhibition was more than double the size of our previous ones and had much improved facilities in terms of accessibility and refreshments as well as the car parking (previously mentioned).

Best In Show Layout

Congratulations to Hindenbach, which was the winner of Best In Show Layout. It is an N Gauge layout, set in a fictitious rural village on the mountainous German Swiss border and is served by a single track branch line.

Charities

Charitable donations have always been a part of the Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Exhibition.

However, this year we decided instead of making donations, we thought it to be better and ask our chosen charities for 2017 if they'd like to attend the exhibition in their own right and explain to the visitors why their donations make such a difference, and to explain the important work that they do on a day to day basis

Our 2017 Charities were the National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA) and Suffolk Accident and Rescue Service (SARS).
